Taking a systems-based approach to unit load design will reduce costs while boosting sustainability, said Ralph Rupert, manager of unit load technology at Millwood (Booth 2305) in a press conference yesterday.
"Frequently, the materials handling systems and packaging elements used to support a unit load are designed independently," Rupert said. "Applying science and technology to develop the complete package of equipment, pallet, film, corrugated and other materials takes into account how each component works together."
