TECHNOLOGIES - FILM
Question: Why should
I buy a stretch wrap system from Millwood?
Answer: Quality. Service. Innovation. Millwood and
our supply partners excel at all three, in order to ensure
that you end up with a skillfully designed system that
will perform as required, be supported by a dedicated
team, and have all the customized features you need to
succeed.
Question: What is unitizing?
Answer: Unitizing is the term used to describe
packaging goods as a unit. Whether its
done with stretch wrapping, shrink film, strapping or
taping, it offers significant benefits. Unitizing your
products can reduce handling costs, with less product
to handle. It can save time in handling and shipping,
and ensure a quicker flow of goods in the distribution
process a distinct competitive advantage. Finally,
unitizing offers better protection of goods, and less
chance of theft or damage during handling.
Question: Does Millwood sell stretch film to compliment
the equipment it sells and services?
Answer: Millwood s focus is to become your
One Stop Connection for all packaging needs.
Since film is an important part of the process, we test
virtually all makes of film to ensure that our equipment
works well with the majority of films available on the
market. Also, Preventative Maintenance Programs can be
highly discounted with our supply of film to our customer(s).
Question: What does pre-stretch mean?
Answer: One of the reasons that stretch film is
so cost effective is that it can be stretched
prior to wrapping a unit this means you use less
film to do the job and save money on the cost of the film
without weakening the strength of the load. In fact, stretched
film shrinks back after application to ensure
an even tighter fit and secure load. Film is stretched
in the roll carriage of the machine depending on
your needs, your system can stretch film from 50% to 300%.
Question: How do I know what percentage of pre-stretching
I need?
Answer: Customers usually specify a 200% pre-stretch
and up to 250% for automatic machines. It really depends
on the film. Millwoods Product Specialists will help
you select the optimum percent pre-stretch for your particular
needs.
