Stretch Film: Protection when it counts
Stretch wrap is the most versatile and the most common material for load unitization. It provides a layer of protection from dirt, it is the first line of defense against theft and it keeps the load together during shipment. Stretch wrap is adaptable: it can be used on mixed SKU loads that may not be perfect, neat and square.
Stretch film from Liberty Technologies is available as cast or blown.
Cast film indicates fabrication of a film by continuously pumping the polymer through a straight die, then chilling this hot sheet of plastic immediately after the die by contact with a cooled "chill roll". Film thickness is determined by how fast the casting roll pulls the plastic away from the die.
Blown film indicates the fabrication of a film by continuously pumping the polymer through a circular die, then filling the tube thus created with air. The volume of air contained within the tube stretches the tube or the bubble out to the desired width. In conjunction with the rate at which it is being pulled away from the die, the desired thickness is created.
