Donald Parker serves as the Logistics Coordinator at Millwood’s Powell Satellite Office where he oversees the organization and tracking of freight operations across the network. In this role Donald focuses on improving efficiency, strengthening processes and delivering measurable cost savings that benefit both Millwood and its customers.

Since joining Millwood a little over a year ago Donald has made an immediate impact. Drawing on five years of experience in freight brokerage, he has helped reduce freight costs by more than $0.20 per mile while improving overall freight practices. These improvements have led to more efficient shipments, stronger carrier relationships and lower costs for the Powell branch and the customers it serves.

Donald’s background in freight brokerage gives him a clear understanding of the logistics challenges customers face every day. That experience allows him to approach each shipment with a solutions-driven mindset, identifying opportunities to improve routes, reduce delays and ensure reliability. Over the past year, Donald and the Powell team successfully managed more than 1,000 loads of lumber delivered to Millwood plants and third-party customers.

What resonates most with Donald about Millwood is the company’s strong sense of family. From day one he felt welcomed as part of a team that works together toward shared goals while supporting one another both professionally and personally. He values the collaboration across departments and the trust placed in individuals to take ownership of their work.

The principles that guide Donald are simple and consistent. He believes in treating others the way he would want to be treated and approaching every interaction with respect and empathy. Those values shape how he works with coworkers, carriers and customers alike and help build long-term relationships rooted in trust.

Outside of work Donald and his family stay active in their community. He and his wife are parents to a three-year-old son with special needs and are deeply grateful for the love and support of their family and friends. Giving back is important to them and they recently helped organize a neighborhood food drive during Halloween to support their local food bank during the government shutdown.
