As one of Millwood’s longest-tenured Team Members, Doug Gaier began his career with Liberty Technologies in 1987, before it became part of the Millwood family. Today, he continues to serve Millwood’s team and customers with his vast experience—helping bridge the company’s past and future through mentorship and practical insight. With a background in grade lumber, pallets and packaging, Doug uses his decades of knowledge to educate, coach and guide others—ensuring that future Team Members can grow in their abilities and find success more quickly.

Doug’s early experience in grade-lumber sales opened the door to Liberty’s expansion into pallets and packaging—an opportunity that allowed him to serve a much broader customer base. Over the years, he has supported projects across a wide variety of industries, from building materials and consumer goods to manufacturing and logistics. Today, Doug is Millwood’s go-to resource for End-of-Line Packaging Systems, providing practical solutions and steady guidance that help customers optimize performance and reliability. His broad view of the business helps him connect people, processes and lessons learned in ways that strengthen relationships and foster continued growth across Millwood’s network.

At the heart of Doug’s leadership is a simple principle: treat others the way you want to be treated. He strives to lead by example—kindly, intentionally and with a desire to become a little better each day. What resonates most with him about Millwood’s mission is its commitment to helping every Team Member grow professionally, personally and spiritually so they’re better prepared for life’s challenges. Guided by one of his favorite quotes from legendary coach John Wooden—“Make every day your masterpiece”—Doug brings humility, perspective and encouragement to everyone he mentors, helping shape a culture where people and purpose come first.
