Our People
As Director of Sales for Millwood’s Western Region, Jim Pepperney provides strategic leadership and direction for a diverse and growing team that serves customers across multiple industries.
In his role, he focuses on strengthening collaboration between sales, operations and finance to ensure Millwood’s solutions deliver measurable value and lasting partnerships. In addition to his regional leadership, Jim also serves as Director for CORE Erosion Control, where he helps guide strategic initiatives, product development and long-term growth.
Jim joined Millwood in April 2017 as a National Account Manager after a successful career in Corporate Sales. His previous role required extensive travel — often three to four days a week — and he was ready for a change.
“I wanted to have more time at home and work for a private company,” he says.
Millwood’s mission and culture offered that opportunity and more.
“Leadership and people development have always been a passion of mine, and Millwood gave me the chance to grow in those areas while being part of an organization that values people and purpose.”
Over the years, Jim’s career at Millwood has evolved from individual contributor to respected leader. He credits the company’s continued growth and alignment across departments as a key part of its success.
“I am always amazed at how far the organization has come,” he says. “The alignment across Sales, Finance and Operations continues to get better, and the benefits of that alignment show daily in our success.”
For Jim, one of the most rewarding aspects of his role is helping others develop their careers.
“We have added talented, diverse people to the organization and promoted employees into roles of increasing responsibility. Being part of that growth is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job.”
Jim believes Millwood’s success comes from its people and its principles.
“We serve customers by providing solutions and having transparent conversations. We treat our customers the way we would want to be treated,” he explains. “We don’t approach the business as transactional — it’s about partnership. When our customers succeed, we succeed.”
That commitment to partnership and integrity has become a defining characteristic of Jim’s leadership style.
In addition to his work leading the Western Region, Jim has been instrumental in advancing Millwood’s capabilities in automation and technology integration. He has managed several ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) projects across the United States, helping position Millwood as a trusted partner in the growing automation space.
One of his proudest professional accomplishments was Millwood’s involvement in designing, testing and supplying the largest automated freezer warehouse in the country.
“The partnership allowed for significant learning and creative problem solving,” he says. “It demonstrated what Millwood can achieve when we collaborate and stay focused on solutions.”
Jim’s leadership philosophy is grounded in Millwood’s Four Pillars — Trust, Servitude, Discipleship and Integrity. These values guide not only his business decisions but also his approach to developing others and building a culture of accountability and care.
“Aligning daily with the four Pillars keeps me focused on what truly matters,” he says. “It reminds me that leadership isn’t just about results; it’s about how you serve and the example you set for others.”
Millwood represents more than a workplace, Jim says. It’s a mission-driven organization where faith, family and Teamwork intersect. The company’s Christ-centered culture reinforces his own values and gives deeper meaning to the work he does each day.
“What we do goes beyond pallets and packaging,” he says. “It’s about building trust, supporting others and creating partnerships that last.”
Through his leadership, commitment to growth and dedication to Millwood’s mission, Jim continues to help shape a future where faith, excellence and service come together to drive success — for his team, for the company and for every customer Millwood serves.
